PROJECT SUMMARY:
ZwingliPilz is on a mission to turn coffee waste into something amazing - fresh, locally grown mushrooms. Using recycled coffee grounds from cafés and restaurants, Yves and Phil have created a circular food system that’s as smart as it is sustainable.
To bring their vision to life, I developed a brand identity that’s earthy, modern, and full of character. We crafted a logo, website, custom mushroom illustrations, and a detailed growing guide, all designed to highlight the natural process behind their product. From the typography to the color palette, every detail ties back to their story of sustainability and innovation.
Now, ZwingliPilz has a brand that not only looks great but also connects with chefs, foodies, and eco-conscious minds who care about where their food comes from.

THE COMPOSITION
The Zwingli Pilz logo tells a story of nature through its thoughtful design elements - “Pilz” being the German word for mushroom.
Both “Zwingli” and “Pilz” feature organic, textured edges, inspired by the beauty of the natural world. While the letters in “Zwingli” are bold and filled, the outlines of “Pilz” reveal delicate mycelium structures within. At the center, the shared “I” connects both words, with its base rooted in mycelium and its top growing into four mushrooms - bringing the entire composition together in a natural, effortless way.
